dreaming of…

loft living.

For month and months I’ve been giddy over the idea of an industrial style loft as a place to call home. I can’t stop daydreaming about those raw brick walls, the distressed wood flooring and the gobs of gorgeous light streaming in through big gigantic windows.

Lately I’ve been the messiest person in the world, so one enormous space to house all of my chaos might not be the best option for us at the moment, but nonetheless, I can’t get the idea outta my head!

AND it doesn’t help that this adorable home, along with the loft home of Stephen & Shauna the insanely talented duo behind Forage as seen in this winter’s issue of Anthology Mag are just too breathtaking for words.

Does anyone else out there swoon over the idea of taking up residence in a big open space? Anyone in Seattle know where I might get my hands on one of these stunning living spaces? A girl can dream, right?

Working from home is great, but one of the downsides definitely has to be the constant ability to stare at my surroundings ALL DAY LONG. I tend to get bored with my home decor pretty quickly & working from a home office for the past year has made this boredom reach an all time high.

I would LOVE to really mix things up with some pretty wallpaper – my living room could definitely use some pizazz and these wallpaper designs by Anthro would be a welcome substitute to the horrendous buttercup color that currently covers our walls. What do you think about wallpaper? Yay or nay?

some new rugs for the house.

Adam and I have been talking for weeks now about how badly we need to nab some new rugs for our place. As much as I adore our hardwood floors, our puppy dug is starting to struggle a bit with her constant slipping and sliding, and I kinda can’t resist the rug options out there right now. Number 5? Yes, please!

i know. SUPER cheesy, right? but i couldn’t resist when the words came out of adam’s mouth when i asked “what am i dreaming about today?” i have been on the hunt for some new pretties for our kitchen anyways…hmmmm.

last minute.

What’s that saying? If it wasn’t for the last minute, nothing would ever get done? Um. Yeah. Nothing like leaving a whole boat load of stuff to complete before heading outta town tomorrow. On the agenda?

1. Finish up gift wrapping. 2. Start DIY recipe for family. 3. Finish chevron-ing floors for Trophy. 4. Start paper chandeliers 5. Get the last of my x-mas cards out the door. 6. Pack. 7. Load the car. 8. B-Bug bath & teeth brush. 9. Shower (hopefully). 10. Water dead Christmas tree. 11. Clean up house for landlord inspection the day we get back. 12. Stuff Adam’s stocking. 13. Oil change. 14. Blog posts x 5 for vaca. 15. Print labels for upcoming art show. 16. Find the time to get pedicure. 17. Schedule next PT appointment. 18. Remember why I love the holidays. 19. Nag Adam about last minute shopping for his parents. 20. Watch love,actually. 21. Sleep for at least 2 hours before we leave.

I hope you are getting all those last minute details completed for your own holiday celebrations. I love this time of year SO much, but it always seems to be overshadowed by all those last minute to do’s.

Whelp, they’ll all get done eventually, right?

dreaming of…

a wintery stroll with my love.

Adam and I are packing up the car on Friday and driving the 20 hours back home to Colorado for Christmas. I’m crossing my fingers for good road weather (I hate driving in the snow!) and so looking forward to some chill days with my family. I’m also hoping to sneak in a snow stroll with Adam. There is nothing better than trekking through the snow in the evening when everything is super quite and serene and the snowflakes are brushing against your face. I can’t wait for Christmas!
