Since Christmas is less than 48 hours away I thought I’d give you a double dose of color and wishlists today. Yellow and Red have to be two of my fav colors, and these little gift yummies are nothing short of awesome. Any of these gifts would be a happy compliment to our rather bare bottomed tree.

assemble shop.

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending a super adorable event at Assemble Gallery and Studio. I actually found Assemble during one of my morning run’s about a year ago when I spotted their bright apple red door from across the street and couldn’t help but peek in their windows.

Assemble offers loads of workshops for the crafty or crafty wanna-be’s – think sewing, painting, knitting, print etc. They also have a crazy amazing collection of letterpress greeting cards and fun little gifts perfect for your best bud or any special occasion (um, hello – if you’re still on the hunt for that perfect stocking stuffer you best stop into their shop quick!).

In the past couple months I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Andie (co-owner of the shop) a whole lot better, and boy can I tell ya – this chick is hilarious AND also one of those small biz owners whom I greatly admire and respect. I was all too happy to celebrate Andie & Emily’s 2nd birthday with them complete with cookies, milk and a book drive – it always feels good to give back, right?!

I soooo enjoyed the evening complete with Christmas caroling, an accidental self portrait, and a little present to check off my “I didn’t even know I NEEDED this!”  list.

dreaming of…

a wintery stroll with my love.

Adam and I are packing up the car on Friday and driving the 20 hours back home to Colorado for Christmas. I’m crossing my fingers for good road weather (I hate driving in the snow!) and so looking forward to some chill days with my family. I’m also hoping to sneak in a snow stroll with Adam. There is nothing better than trekking through the snow in the evening when everything is super quite and serene and the snowflakes are brushing against your face. I can’t wait for Christmas!

Did you know there are only about 2 weeks left until Christmas?! Uh-huh. Those shopping days are trickling away faster than you can fa la la la la!

I’m heading out this weekend to find the perfect secret santa gift and some stocking stuffers for Mr. Blake & Bailie Bug. I’m definitely gonna keep this week’s BLUE wishlist in mind.

Adam and I actually exchanged our “gift” this week! I’m not even gonna lie. Our brand spanking new 50 inch flat screen television is pretty freaking amazing in our living room right now. And I think most of my excitement stems from the fact that the ‘old school’ t.v. jokes will finally subside from our friends & fam.

dreaming of…

the real deal.

When I was little we had a fake tree. No bristles, no hastle, no yearly expense is kinda how I felt my parents thought about a real one. But I’ve always felt a little bit of sadness every time we pulled our tree from the box and manipulated its metal arms. And although I loved our Christmas celebrations, and hold them near & dear to my heart, they always left me wanting that fresh pine smell of a real tree.

When Adam and I moved to Seattle 4 years ago I was completely ecstatic when I realized that most people in the PNW buy their Christmas trees fresh. I remember getting teary eyed when we bought our 1st real tree together and had similar emotions when we bought our tree today. There’s nothing better than spending an afternoon inching your way amoungst the branches and picking the perfect one out with your love.

Ooooooh I’m getting so excited! Not only is the season beginning to ooze of fresh Christmas trees, sparkly lights, and yummy smelling hot cocoa, but one of my most favorite things is just around the corner! Ugly sweaters!

Every year Adam and I search for the ugliest knitted wonders we can find. I not only love the hunt but I can’t resist the ones complete with tassels, buttons or working lights….so much fun!

In the midst of searching for this years uglies, I stumbled across these NOT so uglies. I’d love for the polar bear one to land in my closet.
